So, you’re doing supply teaching. Whether this was your Plan A or something you’d never thought about before don’t panic. As an NQT, I was prepared to look for jobs, apply, interview and be teaching my own class by September. This hasn’t happened for me and yes I’ve been pretty down about it but I’m turning it into a positive. We are good enough, we have worked hard enough, and we deserve a full-time teaching job. We’ve just got to be patient. Our time will come. For now, we get to continue gaining experience in a wider range of schools, with different personalities in each setting, continuing our professional development and arguably most importantly, buying more stationery!
