As part of The Wind Rush topic, I have created a power point and lesson plan which I used for a lesson about performance poetry - The Caged Bird by Maya Angelou.
It includes the poem stanza by stanza and some information linked to the author, including information covering performance poetry and symbolism.
Included are ideas on how you could use the poem for other learning objectives e.g. figurative language, structure and imagery
