This English unit consists of 12 sessions aimed at years 3 and 4 and culminates in the children planning the next chapter of Edward Tulane’s life/journey. Sessions cover many reading objectives, including predicting what might happen, retrieving details from a text, drawing inferences and sequencing events of a story. Writing tasks include using expanded noun phrases and a range of conjunctions, describing a character’s feelings and retelling the main events of a story. There are differentiated resources corresponding to each session.
