Rich task/revision - A story setting for revising assorted year 7 topics - number theory, sequences, ratio. Students work in groups of 3 and solve puzzle tasks. The tasks allow them to progress on a journey to rescue the treasure and palace sprites from the Giant Bebothered. I did it as a 2 lesson challenge with hints for the students, but really making them think things through and use a Maths dictionary and text books to solve the rpoblems rahter than rely on teacher help. Students loved it, in the future I may jazz it up a bit with a powerpoint to introduce the task with some fx and music. Let me know if you think I should.
