Thermal Conductivity (2 Experiments)

Hot water test We will place the four metals in a beaker with very hot water. The liquid crystal displays will change colour to show which metal conducts heat at a faster rate. Bunsen Burner Test We will place the ends of four metals in a busen burner flame. The metals all have ball bearings stuck on the other end with blobs of wax. When the metal conducts, heat is transferred along the metal, the wax melts and the ball bearing drops.
