A fun, very creative and detailed unit focused upon travel writing! This unit has been created specifically to intigrate KS4 skills into the KS3 curriculum to prepare students for the rigors of the new 100% exam GCSE specification. The unit is divided between reading and writing non-fiction texts. Reading focuses upon the analysis of travel writing texts such as poetry, brochures and accounts; writing focuses upon pupils planning and creating a brochure for their own dream island resort, which can be as realistic or wacky as they like. This unit works especially well during the spring or summer term and is suitable for use with any KS3 year group! The unit culminates in an end-of-unit reading and writing exam styled upon the 2017 GCSE Specification for English Language.
