Two proof-reading tasks that focus on capital letters with a writing extension task.

This resource includes two short proof-reading tasks to read through and amend mistakes with capital letters. It is a handy reminder to use capitals for proper nouns, to begin sentences and to start direct speech, and could be used as a 10 minute warm-up or as a homework exercise.

It is suitable for Years 4-6 and can easily be shortened or amended for lower ability pupils or those who work at a slower pace.

There is an optional extension task designed to challenge the more able at the end of each one, that asks the pupils to continue the story, paying particular atttention to capital letters and speech marks for direct speech.
