• This teaching resource explains the work of Dr Veronica Segarra from High Point University. Verónica studies how cells control the movement of molecules inside them. The findings could lead to the development of improved treatments for a range of diseases.
• This resource also contains an interview with Dr Segarra.
• The activity sheet provides ‘talking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on Dr Segarra’s research and challenges them to write a list of 10 questions they would ask her – five about her work as a cell biologist and five about the programmes she is involved with.
