US problems in South Vietnam. Video worksheets, differentiated

Although sympathetic to the North, the film is well-researched and accurate, with in-line sources on screen. It covers: difficulties of guerilla warfare; shortcomings of aerial bombing; “body-counts” as a useless indicator of success; Diem’s regime undemocratic – comparisons with Nazi Germany; Strategic Hamlets – poor living conditions, insurgencies; S. Vietnamese weapons sold to Viet Cong; tunnels, traps, mines – especially US mines injuring US soldiers; cost to the US gvt., enrichment of US manufacturing.

19 questions for the c. 25-minute film. Differentiated! Both versions look very similar, but “B” version has subtle clues. Questions right up to the end, no slack time! Creates a great intro / revision / summary resource. Answer sheet. Very easy to mark. .doc & .pdf for all files.
