Vehicle maintenance / Automotive Health and Safety

This PowerPoint covers health and safety and was made for the start of Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course. There are 38 slides in total and makes use of the animations the PowerPoint offers. This lesson covers HASAWA, RIDDOR and COSHH. If you teach the IMI course, I made this specifically to cover L1MV01 & L1AM01 but essentially covers H&S in the workshop and how to work and use equipment safely.

Be sure to use the slideshow feature or you’ll have a lot of overlapping images.

There are some slides that require answers to be revealed by clicking on the pictures or text - I have pointed these out in the slide comments.

I have also included a worksheet to accompany the lesson that can be printed out for students to complete, or sent to them via e-mail to complete on word.

I teach levels 1 up to 3 of Vehicle Maintenance & Repair at a further education college in the UK delivering the IMI vehicle qualifications.

I found the resources available to me when I started pretty poor and didn’t engage the students particularly well, so I made my own set of PowerPoints that cover pretty much all of it so far, so thought i’d share some of them up here and see if there’s any takers. If there is, i’ll put them all up and hopefully they’ll come in useful.

A good few hours go into making these PowerPoints so hopefully they come in useful for others.
