My dear Reader,

This is a 8 lessons set; It looks at living in Whitechapel 1888-1891 and Jack the Ripper’s killings. It aims to have students matching general knowledge and original sources while developing their ability to answer a GCSE paper.

All lessons have a same-model structure to get the students taught in a coherent manner, and always understand where they are at in their learning:
Lesson 1 Introducing White Chapel
Lesson 2 Arriving at White Chapel
Lesson 3 Living in White Chapel
Lesson 4 Patrolling White Chapel
Lesson 5 Assessing White Chapel
Lesson 6 Jack the Ripper Victims
Lesson 7 Jack the Ripper investigators
Lesson 8 Jack the Ripper suspects

The usual structure is composed of Three tasks based on levels of difficulties. The third task is usually a writing exam task . The two first tasks are group or class-assessed, the third is individual and gives you the chance to go around the class and individually support their writing. An extension task is usually added at the end to ignite debate and understanding.

Homework, reading resources and task templates are included.

This work should be ideal for a year secondary school class and is already set as slide show presentation.
