Word Banks - Creative Writing (Language Paper 1 Question 5)

A collection of four word banks -

1. Adjectives
2. Adverbs
3. Emotions
4. To use instead of ‘said’

These are perfect for expanding vocabulary and encouraging students to include more ambitious vocabulary in their work.

I have used these banks in several ways, including:

• Sticking them in to the back of students’ books
• Laminating sheets to give to students either individually or as a table/group
• As a differentiated resource for SEN students
• Stuck on the wall for students to refer to when needed
• For use as a starter (students identify 5 words that they don’t know an define them/ use them in a sentence)
• As a reference for spelling
