Writing Greater Depth Vocabulary Prompts

As a trained writing moderator, I have seen how vital it is to expose children to rich vocabulary during the planning stages.

After consistently having a large number of my pupils achieve greater depth in writing, I have uploaded the vocabulary prompts and mats that I use.

There is a mat for each setting within a piece of writing:
Mountains
Beaches/Islands
Volcano
Forest/Jungle
Streams/Waterfalls/River
Cities/Town/Villages
Caves
Roads
Garden

These are saved in Microsoft Word so you can adapt them to suit the needs of your class.
