Need your Year 3 children to practise key Maths and English skills?
Need something to help settle your class at the start of the day?
Want to save time but still need your class to revise?
Let me introduce our Year 3 morning tasks!
Covering the UK KS2 Primary Maths and English curriculum, our morning task questions are an excellent way to have your class practise and revise key skills while having a clear routine, helping them to settle quickly in the morning.
Every morning is made of two Maths questions, two English questions and a spelling task. Answers are also included so children can self-mark.
All of our morning tasks are in a** dyslexia-friendly** font and use coloured background to support different needs.
Terms 1 and 2- The first two terms focus on prior learning from the past two academic years to support children in their consolidation. This allows children to continue to recall prior learning in addition to building their confidence and sense of achievement, leading to more independence completing our morning tasks.
Terms 3 to 6- The rest of the terms incorporate learning from the current academic year in addition to further consolidation from previous years.
Each day there will be two fluency/arithmetic style questions, with space for the adult to show workings out if required.
English questions are split into two different types- writing comprehension/grammar and spelling/punctuation. There will be one of each type each day.
Spelling- On the first day of each week, children will be required to find 5 words that match a specific spelling rule. We strongly recommend children having access to a dictionary for this. For the subsequent days, children will be completing different tasks based on their 5 found words.
