Your students will love this fantastic pack of electricity activities, ideal for supporting the teaching of the 2014 National Curriculum Year 4 electricity unit. Included are seven activities:
-Identify it!
Students identify items that use electricity and those that do not.
-Build it!
Students predict whether the circuits will light the bulb. They build the circuits to test their predictions.
-Sort it!
Students sort the images into those that are electrical conductors and those that are electrical insulators.
-Investigate it!
Students investigate what happens to a bulb in a circuit as more batteries are added.
-Create it!
Students design their own switch to turn a bulb on and off in a series circuit.
-Avoid it!
Students describe why the images of electrical hazards are potentially dangerous.
-Define it!
Year 4 Electricity Unit
Students match the topic vocabulary to its definitions.
Included are detailed, clear instructions on how to set up the activities. Also included is a KWL (what I know already, what I would like to know and what I learnt) for student to complete prior and after the unit.
Please note: Some of the activities require additional resources. These include wires, bulbs, batteries, selection of electrical conductors and insulators and materials for building a switch (paper clips, popsicle sticks, tin foil, clothes pegs etc).
