A set of resources for a number of lessons on inference aimed at UKS2 and KS3.

The main part of the lessons uses the superb picture book My Name is Not Refugee, by Kate Milner - there are 3 inference questions for each double page spread as part of the PowerPoint, which also includes a starter with different images of refugees and a recap of inference and how to answer inference questions.

There is also an extract from the brilliant Refugee Boy, by Benjamin Zephaniah, and an extension which asks children to write their own inference questions.

I followed these lessons up with a final inference lesson using the song ‘That’s Not my Name’ by The Ting Tings (widely available online).
