A Year 5 unit of work exploring parenthesis and how it can be used in poetry. The aim of the unit is to allow children to confidently use parenthesis (brackets, dashes and commas) and apply their knowledge to poetry. The end point is being able to write a poem consisting of three verses with parenthesis about their identity and using an ‘I am’ structure.
