Closely following the Hamilton Trust scheme of work, we have produced these presentations to support the learning of Year 6 students. Required texts for this unit are ‘War Horse’ by Michael Morpurgo and ‘War Game’ by Michael Foreman. ‘One Boy’s War’ by Lynn Huggins-Cooper would also benefit this unit. Children will learn to recognise different types of sentences, write character descriptions, write dialogues, perform scenes from the book in addition to researching footballers who enlisted during WW1.
