This is a one hour lesson designed as a revision task for KS3 students. It includes a powerpoint, audio examples, a starter, differentiated objectives and worksheets for students to complete. The content covers reading sheet music, and basic revision on the notes of the treble clef and basic rhythm symbols. There are extension tasks that cover ledger lines, dotted notes, rests and tied notes in more detail for more able students. The secondary task can be either a performance (solo or duet) task, or a sequencing/composition tasks intended for use of software such as Garageband. The theme tune for Wallace and Gromit is split into a melody and harmony line to input or play at the learner’s level. This is very good for independent learning, but I am also confident in using it as a cover lesson too.
