Highly Engaging! Trig can be a tough nut to crack if you're not armed with an awesome activity... Each worksheet represents a small section of the big picture! The end result will look spectacular hanging up in your classroom :) CHECK OUT THE PRODUCT PREVIEW to see the range of problem types, and to know exactly what these worksheets involve! Students use the basic trig ratios (sin, cos, tan) to solve for sides and angles, then use the answers to colour their worksheets based on the colour key. So much cooler than textbook homework! It's Simple: 1. Calculate the answers. 2. Colour the squares. 3. Cut out your section. 4. Combine with the class! INCLUDED (.docx and .pdf files in a zip folder): --> Full class set of 24 worksheets (each worksheet is different!) that combine to create the nutcracker mosaic -->Worksheets involve a range of right trigonometry problems that involve choosing and applying the correct primary trig ratio to solve for an unknown side or angle. --> Every worksheet contains a randomized list of answers at the bottom, allowing for student self-assessment --> Master Answer Key showing numeric solution for all worksheets If you like this product, be sure the check out , sorted by topic! The student buy-in factor is HUGE with these worksheets; they all want to see the finished picture come together! High school students love colouring too! This sure beats textbook homework! Imagine if your students were the ones policing homework completion? "Common Josh! Do your work or we'll have a hole in our picture!" Leave the picture a secret or show it for motivation… it’s your call. Encourage students to check their answers by finding them in the randomized list on their worksheet before they colour each square. This will increase the accuracy of the final picture! All my “Colouring by…” worksheets use standard pencil-crayon colours found in the Crayola 24 pack. For best results, use the exact colour name match (and encourage quality colouring!). Perhaps a class set of pencil crayons would be a fun math department investment! Feedback, suggestions, and frontline stories are much appreciated!! Thanks for checking this out! ~CalfordMath

Colour by Numbers in French - Eiffel Tower (4 Versions, 30-worksheets each)

Build proficiency in your students' French number vocabulary with this fun collaborative colouring activity. It is different than other colour-by-number worksheets, since each student's worksheet represents only a small section of the large whole-class mosaic. The collaborative aspect of these worksheets will have THEM policing the homework completion. (Nobody wants to be responsible for the hole in the picture!) Paris and the Eiffel Tower are icons of French, and would certainly enhance your classroom hanging up on the wall! It's simple: 1) Calculate / Solve 2) Colour 3) Cut 4) Combine FOUR DIFFERENT VERSIONS INCLUDED: (.pdf and .docx format) 1) Math facts (+, - , ⨯, ÷ ) for numbers 0 –> 100, answers given in French words. **Example problems: Quarante moins Trente-et-un = ? Cinquante-quatre divisé par Trois = ? Trente-cinq plus Onze = ? 2) Basic translation from words to numerals (numbers 1 –> 100, answers given in numeral form) **Example problems: Cinquante-six Dix-neuf Zéro 3) Translation from words to numerals for large numbers (1000 – 1 000 000, answers given in numeral form) **Example problems: Deux-cent-soixante-mille-cent-quarante-quatre Soixante-mille-cent-dix-neuf Quatre-cent-quatre-vingt-mille-cinq-cent-quarante-sept 4) Word Number Patterns (Increasing or decreasing by 1s or 2s for numbers beween 0 – 100, answers given in French words.) **Example problems: Trente-neuf, Quarante, Quarante-et-un, ______ ? Vingt-et-un, Dix-neuf, Dix-sept, ______ ? Trente-deux, Trente-trois, Trente-quatre, ______ ? For each version, a number-range answer key is provided, so you can assess students' responses at a glance, or use the range to correctly colour any extra worksheets. In my experience, students are asking to complete extra sheets to see the picture completed! These worksheets apply to the vocabulary component of the grade 6 Ontario Core-French curriculum. (basic vocabulary including numbers from 1 to 100) I'd love to hear your feedback too! Enjoy! ~CalfordMath

Colouring + Polynomials = Awesomeness. This includes a complete class set of 36 worksheets / colouring pages that combine to create the football player mosaic. Every single worksheet is different, so you can count on hearing great math dialog between your students. Assessment is easy using the full answer key AND complete solution manual. You can make this available to students to self-assess their work (using the task for review or practice), or keep it for your own assessment purposes if you're markin' for keeps. Common Core Standards: HSF-IF.A.2, HSF-BF.B.4 MATH INVOLVED: ◾Students evaluate polynomial functions for inputs in their domains ◾Each problem gives a set of 1 to 3 functions like this: {h(x)= -5x-3, m(x)= 5x²+22x-1, j(x)= -3x²-5x} And are asked to evaluate something like this: h^-1(-5) + m(-3) - j(1) ◾Inverse functions are used in linear cases randomly about 40% of the time ◾Students gain practice with exponent and integer laws (yes senior students still make those mistakes!) and general order of operation skills when simplifying a multi-step expression. I'd love to hear your feedback and your students' response to this task. These tasks ensure individual accountability (since every worksheet is different) while harnessing collaborative motivation (since every worksheet is needed for the mosaic). The end result will look spectacular hanging up in your classroom, and your students will be proud! It's simple! 1. Calculate the answers. 2. Colour the squares. 3. Cut out your section. 4. Combine with the class!
