This is flexible lesson which would suit a mixed ability beginner Adult Migrant ESL Class. The topic is jobs which is very relevant to Adult Migrant students and introduces a lot of useful vocabulary. It can be used in a variety of ways.
There is plenty of opportunity to differentiate learning according to your students’ levels and needs. It may take 2 lessons or could take several lessons depending on your learners and how you present the material.

A grammar resource for Intermediate Level Adult ESL students. It begins with a review powerpoint and then 4 Activities of increasing difficulty. There are 2 writing tasks a grammar activity and a speaking/listening group activity.The final activity is open ended and quite challenging but a good introduction to the language required for IELTS Writing Task 1 (or other academic writing)
I am aware that not all teachers have access to photocopying facilities or the ability to print off heaps of copies. For this reason, I try to keep the printed pages as dense as possible to reduce the number of printed pages. It is also better for the environment!
I have planned this so that slides 2 – 4 (or 5) are used as a PowerPoint review with the whole class – hence the coloured background.
The rest (on white background) can be printed (or not) as required.
