Three great activities that would span six lessons and a great classroom display about German born diarist, Anne Frank. Perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4 studying World War II. NO PREP is needed! Firstly, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to Anne Frank and some of the key events of World War 2. There are 42 posters or cards that include many of the key events from her life and some from the Second World War. Secondly, there is a reading comprehension activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity. Finally, there is a biography writing unit. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Four individual Escape Room activities about the following famous figures from the history of the Olympic Games: Simone Biles Jesse Owens LeBron James Wilma Rudolph Ideal for Year 5 or Year 6, the activities are perfect for group work, starting a new sports topic, Black History Month, team-building activities or for fun, engaging and interactive lessons. The activities can be used in English also as they incorporate some ELA skills, or in Social Studies. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
