A fully-resourced lesson which serves as an introduction to ‘honour’ based violence and ‘honour’ killings. Students will explore whether it is true that most honour killings are down to interpretation of religious texts, or whether culture or misogyny is mostly responsible. They will learn about where victims can go for help and the form ‘honour’ based violence can take.
This lesson is great to consolidate the PSHE 2020-24 spiral curriculum (especially for a forced marriage unit) or for a Citizenship / RE human rights unit. The lesson is most suitable or KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning. If everything is completed, there is around 90 minutes of material here.

UPDATED : A 25 minute Tutor Time session all about what a No Deal Brexit is and what this would mean for the country. The session focuses on how a No Deal Brexit is already being prepared for, the possible consequences of this and what it would mean legally. The PowerPoint also examines why some people are for and some against a No Deal Brexit, before inviting the students to form their own conclusions through a class debate.
The resource is editable, has differentiated tasks, a clip with questions, info sheet, and is designed to last around half an hour.

An assembly all about whether or not we live in a truly equal country. The assembly reflects on women’s and LGBT+ rights, racism, black lives matter, and finally focuses on income inequality - and how and why this is rising. The message of the assembly is that although the UK has improved so much in the last fifty years, we cannot take it for granted that we live in a country of equal opportunities, which is why we need to develop our skills of resilience, perseverance and determination to succeed more than ever.
It lasts around 20 mins (inc clips). The assembly includes animations, statistics, dialogue between characters and a little humour. It is very easy to just pick up ad deliver after a quick glance at the slides.

**Fast fashion - how are our clothing choices affecting the environment? **
A detailed, editable 1 hour lesson all about the fast fashion industry and the reasons why we need to consume and dispose of clothing responsibly.
Created to fit an ‘adaptive teaching style’ the lesson is influenced by Rosenshine’s principles of instruction, and promotes both cognitive and metacognitive strategies.
In this lesson, the students will discuss the global impact of the fast fashion industry and identify examples of sustainable and unstainable clothing materials.

2 HOUR lesson all about knife crime, who is particularly vulnerable to become involved and why and the measures the UK is taking to keep young people safe. Students will investigate the link with wider gang violence and influence, and the pressure put on gang members to commit illegal activities. They will also examine the consequences of such illega, on victims and perpetrators as well as the lasting effect on families and communities. NEW PSHE lesson all about what communities are, why they are beneficial to us, how our mental health improves when we become involved in off-line communities and how our mental health suffers when we lose contact with our off-line communities.
Students will investigate different types of communities, how they develop, how they overlap and how they can lend support in time of need. They will also examine the phenomenon of the hikikomoris of Japan, individuals who choose to actively cut themselves off from all off-line communities, and explore the impact this has on their mental health.
This has been written to cover the 2020-24 PSHE guidance on the importance of communities. The lesson will last you at least one hour and is best suited to upper KS3 or KS4.

British Values Assembly. Suitable for use with either KS2 or KS3, this fun, light-hearted assembly is perfect for introducing, or reinforcing your student’s knowledge of all five British values.
In this assembly, King Charles III presents British values and their importance to a less-than-interested student, Loudmouth Lewis, in an attempt to win him over.
The PowerPoint includes embedded clips, audio tracks, and surprise animations to keep your audience engaged. It is humorous, informative, and very engaging. The assembly lasts about up to 20 minutes if all the clips are watched. The PowerPoint is also fully editable with the exception of the background image. We advise watching the slideshow in full before showing it to your students, so you know how long to spend on each slide.
NEW PSHE lesson all about stereotypes and stereotyping. Students will investigate what these terms mean, how stereotyping can be harmful and why humanity developed the ability to make quick generalisations about groups. Students will investigate the case of Ethel, an old lady who loves her teenage grandchildren, yet can’t help stereotyping teenagers as a potential danger to her when she passes them on the streets. Students will explore why this is, how the mind works and how stereotypes evolved originally to help us avoid threats, but can be detrimental when applied to societal groups in the modern world.

Students will explore the factors that can lead to a decrease in fertility, in both males and females, before exploring the options for those trying to conceive. Students will investigate common reproductive issues such as polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. A fully-resourced, detailed and differentiated 1-2 hour PSHE lesson which serves as an introduction to pensions and why we need to think about stating to save for retirement at a relatively early age. The lesson breaks down the ways we can save explains national insurance and the type of pensions and invites students to examine how young earners manage their money.
This lesson best is suited to KS5 or KS4. There is nothing unsuitable for KS3, but you’d have to break down a lot of the concepts.
This lesson is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning.
It is well-differentiated with three-level challenges for each task, contains a variety of activities, an hour long PowerPoint, a three page information pack, clips with differentiated questions, clear measurable LOs, new key-term introductions and other activities.
