A 25 minute Tutor Time session created especially for LGBT+ Month (Feb 2019). This is the second of six sessions to be used throughout LGBT+ month, each focusing on and exploring the culture and history of a different aspect of the LGBTQAI community, from Lesbians (L) to Intersex (I). The session contains three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task. Created to run over 2 x 25 minute Tutor Time sessions, this lesson is an introduction to British far-right extremism and so-called ‘Tommy Robinson’. It could just as easily be used as an hour long Citizenship or PSHE session as there is a lot to talk about and lots of tasks to cover. Students will explore the truth about ‘Tommy Robinson’ and his criminal background as well the history of fascist and nationalist-groups in the UK and why this isn’t something we can just ignore.
