We look at Carol Ann Duffy’s Mrs Midas from The World’s Wife and reflect on how the titular character thinks and feels about the consequences of her husband’s decision. The lesson includes differentiated activities throughout, and clear and engaging activities to support students as they get to grips with the use of language in the poem to affect the reader’s interpretation of character and theme.
