Christian Marriage / Wedding Game - great game to introduce marriage vows

(0)
Lesson focuses on playing the Marriage Game - full instructions are included. Only extras needed are dice and counters! Though the activity has been designed as a game, it helps students focus on the meaning of the vows taken during a Christian wedding service and also outlines some of the various financial considerations that are taken when preparing for a wedding. Resources include presentation, lesson objectives, starter and plenary, game board and worksheets plus homework. The preparation for the game takes about 20 minutes, playing the game about 20- 30 minutes, then follow-up work including discussion and structured essay. In total, at least 2 lessons worth of material. I use this game as an introductory lesson to GCSE Religious Studies - Relationships and Christian weddings, but also suitable for Year 8/9 students. Laminate the board and the cards and use over and over again!

‘Jurassic Christmas!’ was written for lower secondary school students. It is a light-hearted comedy, and includes Mary, Joseph, Wise-men, a narrator, dinosaurs and Harry Potter! It also plays homage to the Sainsbury’s Christmas 2018 advert. The play is about 12 - 15 minutes long in total, with 14 speaking parts (though these parts can doubled up or divided in further characters as necessary). Very few props are needed and no special staging or lighting is required. I have also included a promotional poster for students, a promo poster for parents and a program - all you need to do is complete poster and program with school logo and student names. ‘Not another Nativity!’ was written for secondary school students as a counter to the endless primary nativity plays! It was also written as a small memorial to George Micheal with two of his songs ‘Faith’ and ‘Last Christmas’ featuring. It is a light-hearted comedy, a play within a play focusing on a class of Year 11 students who want to do things their way… could be easily adapted for year 6 students who want to do a special nativity for their last year in primary. The play is about 12 - 15 minutes long in total, with 11 speaking parts (though these parts can doubled up or divided in further characters as necessary). Very few props are needed and no special staging or lighting. I have also included a promotional poster for students, a promo poster for parents and a program - all you need to do is complete with school logo and student names. I do hope you enjoy it as much as my students did - any questions please do message me!
