A document with a summary of the Afro Celt movement on2 sides of A4 with the main features students need to know for the exam (this is in prose). There are 20 differentiated questions where answers can be found in the text. Lower grade questions ask students to recall musical facts. Higher grade questions require students to analyse and evaluate the musical facts in order to answer questions on context as well (in preparation for AO4 on the essay).

A series of 3 lessons which focus on the key aspects (textures and other musical features) which can be found in Baroque and Classical Music. There are 10 points per set work which students can revise from which aim to either link to the genre, link to characteristic features of the piece/genre or explain WHY the composer chose a certain aspect.

I have painstakingly gathered the key quotations from each scene onto one A3 revision document.
This should be a useful resource to help approach each essay.
A mini-mock version of Paper 2 Section A English Language GCSE.
Both texts are on the topic of royal weddings.
The extracts are deliberately short so all 4 questions can be covered in one revision lesson.
I use this lesson to focus on using disciplined timings for each question.
Model answers are included for each question.
20 interesting sentences to use for writing Paper 1: creative writing.
20 interesting sentences to use for writing paper 2: transactional writing.
To set it up, simply introduce a Paper 1 image or Paper 2 topic and ask students to create the sentences at random.
You can use the random generator PowerPoint to pick any of the 20 sentences at random which is particular effective for engaging students.
After this, I give each student a 20 sided dice so they can explore the sentences at their own writing pace and make their own decisions about their writing.
