A random generator powerpoint that is useful for encouraging students to experiment with using alternative sentence openers.
Simply give students a topic to describe.
Turn on the random generator and students must begin each sentence with whatever word the random generator lands on. It may be ad adverb, present particple verb, preposition etcetera.
Students always seem to enjoy this activity.

Teaching instructions:
There are 20 key extracts from the novel grouped into bronze, silver and gold for difficulty.
Give each student an extract to focus on.
Each student completes differentiated questions based on the extract.
The next step is to carousel and share answers.
Students then jot down notes for all characters on the graphic organiser which is also provided.
Use this test if you want to find out if your students have read the whole of ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ instead of just watching the movie. All the questions test students on incidents that occur in the book but not in the film.
