I have used this activity to encourage children to write sentences with capital letters and full stops and to hold and repeat the sentence in their head. The intervention helps children to gain confidence when they are writing sentences.

Two fun Maths activity PowerPoints to introduce children to 2D and 3D shapes. The PowerPoints include interactive activities for the children to join in with. The PowerPoints show different 2D or 3D shapes and describes their properties. Children then have to guess the shape that is being described or the shape that is being slowly revealed. HFW Reading Intervention A reading intervention that covers 100 high frequency words/HFW. The words are split into 13 sets with five activities for children to complete for each set. The activities are - read the words, find and colour the star words, match and colour words starting with upper and lower case letters, read the sentences including hfw and use the picture to fill in the missing word and read the sentences and draw a picture to match the sentences. Please note that the sets do not contain equal numbers of words due to needing to construct sentences that make sense. Introducing Money A complete Maths lesson for introducing money and coins. The lesson covers the different coins and their value using pennies. There is an activity for swapping coins for a single coin to demonstrate that different coins can be used to make up different amounts and shows children that we need to add the amounts together and not simply count the coins. The tests can be used with a timer to check how secure children are with number bonds. Children enjoy working their way through the colours of the rainbow and if not secure then can repeat tests again and try to beat their previous score. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children.
