Here's a versatile resource that allows you to print a number of domino style cards on topics to do with performance enhancing drugs.
Have your students work together in small groups in order to complete the domino circle. Then check their answers and understanding by projecting the power point dominoes onto the whiteboard.
Great formative assessment for learning activity - you can really see what your students understand and where they need more guidance. Set two of two.
Do your students find it hard to distinguish between similar concepts?
This set of 50 'What's the difference between?' flashcards on diet and nutrition allows your students to grapple with concepts such as the differences between simple and complex carbohydrates, the difference between the role of vitamins and minerals and the difference between macronutrients and micronutrients, to name just a few.
You can use these question cards when you introduce diet and nutrition to gauge the level of students' prior knowledge. Equally, they can be used during the learning of the topic and afterwards to assess knowledge and understanding. They're also great for interactive revision.
They can be projected on your whiteboard for whole class interaction or printed out (in various different sizes, in black & white as well as colour) and used as a learning resource by individual students or small groups.
Why not display them on your classroom wall, in the PE corridor, in the sports hall or in the changing rooms? There's plenty of scope to use these cards creatively to the benefit of your students.
Probably one of the best and most innovative teaching and learning resources around!
This is an interactive multiple choice resource using PowerPoint which will really help you assess your students' learning. Not many other multiple choice resources offer so much.
1. Exam style questions are displayed - without initially showing any possible answer. This encourages students to think about what the correct answer might be, before the responses are shown. So you can also use this resource for short answer questions.
2. Students can then click on each of the numbers to make the corresponding response appear.
3. If a student is sure that a particular response is incorrect, they can click on the corresponding number again to make the response disappear - thus helping to develop good exam technique as eliminating incorrect responses is good exam practice.
4. Students then choose which answer is correct and click on the main text of the response to receive immediate feedback about their response. If they are correct, the response turns green, however, if the response is incorrect the response turns red AND feedback about that response is provided, thus helping students move forward with their learning.
This is also an excellent resource to use for whole class teaching on the interactive whiteboard as a starter or plenary activity and it great for assessing learning.
If you are using iPads, or other tablets students can download the PowerPoint app (for free) from the App Store or Google Play. You can easily and simply push the resource to your students through Showbie.
This resource can also be put onto your school VLE allowing for rich and deep personalised learning away from the classroom.
A fun way to challenge even your most able students and to really get them thinking!
In this fully interactive resource, I have taken over 30 factual statements about components of fitness and removed some of the key words leaving just the first letter. Your students have to work out what the correct statement is.
This is guaranteed to get them thinking and will help you see which students still have gaps in their knowledge. Perfect for starter activities or to recap on prior learning.

Bringing 3B B4 ME alive! Brilliant for developing independent learners.
Use these 3B B4 ME flashcards to encourage your students to work independently and collaboratively to find solutions to their own questions.
Typical use might involve distributing a number of 3B B4 ME cards to each student at the start of the lesson or activity within the lesson. The objective is for students to have all (or as many cards as possible) of their cards in their possession at the end of the lesson or activity.
In order to retain their cards they must think carefully about alternative ways in which they might find an answer to their questions - i.e. they should use a book (or electronic device), their brain or a buddy (3Bs) before asking the teacher.
They are permitted to ask the teacher a question, but they must forfeit (hand in) one of their cards for each question asked!
This process may take a while to bed in, but it is worth the effort and perseverance. It can also be a lot of fun when presented to the class in the appropriate way and experience tells me that undoubtedly an element of competition creeps in!
