This is a scheme of work that culminates in students writing a persuasive leaflet for a theme park. This is aimed at very low ability Year 7 students and is designed to be interesting and simple to follow. I am however tweaking it slightly as I go and creating Power Points for each lesson, as this is the way that I like to work. This is a one-off 30 minute lesson to encourage and help students to use sensory description in their writing. They watch a clip for inspiration and then plan and write a descriptive paragraph.

A series of 4 lessons focusing on presentational devices. Students are encouraged to analyse images from adverts and newspapers whilst also considering the impact of the language used.
