This looks at overcrowded slums called rookeries, common lodging houses, the workhouse, work of Dr Barnardo and Peabody Estate. It also focuses on the extent of prostitution in Whitechapel and jobs such as 'sweated trades'. Includes some 4 mark exam questions.

6 resources on the Jack the Ripper murder case which shook London and the world in 1888. Resources include a detailed PowerPoint on the 5 murder victims and a table to help pupils make links.
