For the carousel larger quotes were placed around the room on sugar paper and students moved around to annotate these before being given a sheet with all quotes on and annotating them from class notes.

I found that students were making very weak comments about the effects of poetic devices in poetry. Therefore I created this mind map that can be used as a placemat or classroom wall poster. It encouraged students to look at the writer's intention more, rather than just writing "this has a positive effect". I will be using with AQA Power and Conflict poetry GCSE, however it is flexible.
