Moles GCSE Lesson (SC9c CC9c)

(2)
These PowerPoints and worksheets will allow you to teach HIGHER TIER ONLY GCSE Chemistry content on Moles. This lesson introduces the concept of a mole in terms of Avogadro’s number, exemplifies how to calculate the number of moles from mass of a substance and vice versa, and shows how to use moles to calculate numbers of particles of a substance **There are two versions of this lesson and worksheet provided. One is aimed at Triple Science students only, as it includes coverage of concentrations in mol dm-3, which is something that Combined Science students do not need to learn ** Other lessons on Calculations involving Mass (including subsequent lessons on using moles) are available from my shop. They can be purchased individually or, alongside this lesson, as part of a whole-topic bundle.

Electroplating & Copper Purification GCSE Lesson (CC10a SC13c)

(1)
This PowerPoint (containing a worksheet) will allow you to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Electroplating (Triple Science Only). It also contains slides that provide essential background for the Core Practical involving Electrolysis of Copper Sulphate (CC10a). The Core Practical prep can be taught separately but I find it fits better alongside electroplating for Triple Science classes. **Be aware: this lesson works best if you have access to Edexcel GCSE 9-1 Chemistry textbooks. It’s not essential; other resources can be used and all information needed for students to complete the worksheets is found in the slides. However, if textbooks are available, the worksheet can be completed as an independent learning task. ** Other GCSE lessons (including other lessons on Electrolysis) are available from my shop. They can be purchased individually or, alongside this lesson, as part of a whole-topic bundle.

Titrations (Making Salt) GCSE Lesson (SC8e CC8e)

(1)
This PowerPoint will allow you to teach students the GCSE 9-1 Chemistry content on Making Salts by Acid-Alkali titration. Note This does not cover the Triple-only content on titration calculations or performing a titration as part of a Core Practical; that is covered in a separate lesson for the Quantitative Analysis topic. This lesson is simply about using titration to make salts from acids and solubles bases, in contrast to the methods used for making salts from acids and insoluble bases. The resources are easy to follow for teachers, readily accessible for students and are appropriate for Combined and Triple Science classes, Foundation and Higher tiers. Other GCSE lessons are available from my shop. They can be purchased individually or, alongside this lesson, as part of a whole-topic bundle.
