HOMOPHONES WORD-SEARCH
Like the earlier Homophones word spiral puzzles, all of the words used in these ten word-search puzzles are commonly misspelt or confused with other similar-sounding words. There is a printable sheet for the pupils and a solution sheet highlighting the fourteen words in each puzzle for the teacher. To make the words easier to locate on the solution sheet I have highlighted the first letter of each word in yellow, or orange when the letter begins two or more words running in different directions. I have included two versions, one in PDF and the second an Excel file, whichever is your preference.
YEAR 5-6 CROSSWORDS USING WORD LIST FROM NAT CURR
Like the earlier Word-search file these crosswords have been created to include words on the latest list from the National Curriculum 2014 for years 5-6. There are 12 crosswords with solution sheets for the teacher’s use. I have included the words used in the crossword, in a separate box below the clues. Please delete these if you do not feel this extra information is necessary. I have now added a PDF version.

As these are intended for younger pupils I have kept it simple by only placing the words straight across or downwards, not diagonally. COMMONLY CONFUSED WORDS
I have taken a selection of those annoying words which have not only caused us all at some stage to hesitate before putting pen to paper, but also usually manage to escape the automatic spell-check! I hope that these activity sheets will help students to become more familiar with the words and their different definitions.
