The lesson has a focus on the short term and longer term wider consequences of the Black Death. The main task is for students to identify these consequences and then analyse them. There is then a variety of optional tasks such as a creative writing task, extended writing task and additional challenge questions for the students to discuss and complete. Thank you for viewing this resource. The activities in this resource will briefly introduce students to Elizabeth I. Then, students will be given facts about her reign to weigh up her strengths and weaknesses. This will be followed by a range of worksheet based activities as well as an opportunity to compare the strengths of the Tudor monarchy compared with the strengths needed for a monarch in modern day Britain. This lesson looks at which migrant groups came to England in the Medieval period, c.800 - c.1500 and why. The main groups the lesson will focus on are: the Vikings; the Normans; migrants from the Low Countries, Lombardy and Jewish migration. This lesson helps students understand a variety of reasons why there was an increase in exploration from European countries during the reign of the Tudors. This can be taught as part of a Tudor society unit or a stand alone lesson. This is a one page resource which acts as a revision tool for the Superpower Relations and Cold War topic. Students can easily see the whole topic on one sheet and use this to begin their revision and use the diagram as a checklist. Student feedback has suggested that more able students liked how the diagram acted as an effective starting point for revision whereas weaker students liked how the diagram made revision for the topic seem more manageable.

This lesson examines the consequences of America dropping the atomic bomb and then the resulting telegrams which proved the suspicion between the USA and the Soviet Union after the war.
