This extensive collection of lesson plans, starter activities and revision ideas from TES Author Pete Scutt cover a huge variety of topics across biology, chemistry and physics topics at secondary level.
GCSE Core Science Revision Materials for Diet and Exercise
Revision materials to support students prepare for the GCSE core science examinations.
Resources are based around keywords and concepts.
Further resources are available from AchieveinScience and Scuttscience.
GCSE Core Science Daily Quiz Sheets
As students revise it is important that they do not forget what they have previously been taught. These quiz sheets are designed as a quick starter to continue to maintain knowledge and understanding of key concepts.
These are also a great revision tool to review learning.

A set of 25 5ADAY question sheets and accompanying answer sheets.
These allow students to continue to build and refresh their knowledge of the Biology units.
More will be published as they are produced as well as for chemistry and physics.
Two books, each with 50 engaging and memorable demonstrations/practicals - 100 in total!
These are designed to support existing teacher, NQTs, ITT, PGCE students and more in both primary and secondary schools.
These books supports the teaching of various topics/units including:
Speed, velocity, acceleration, forces, energy transformations, atomic structure, ionic bonding, covalent bonding, energy resources, states of matter, magnets, terminal velocity, volume, elements, periodic table, genetic, diseases, floating and sinking, pressure, chemical reactions, enzymes, cell division, combustion, momentum, smoking and much more….
Unit 2: Organisation Topic - Lesson Plans & Resources - Combined Science AQA - Version 1
Covering:
- Digestive System
- The Heart
- Blood
- Coronary Heart Disease
- Health
- Plant Systems - NEW UPDATES - Extra files added!!
This is based around the draft specification from AQA to support the teaching from Sept 2015 for Biology. Updates will be available as they are produced throughout the year.
Unit of work to support the topic with:
- Lesson Plan style Scheme of Work
- Accompanying PowerPoints
- Activities
A full scheme of work is available with all the accompanying resources for Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
This booklet supports a series of lesson and is designed for Entry Level/SEND students to allow them to access the key elements of science. If used in a mixed ability class, these booklets allow students to keep pace with the rest of the class whilst personalising the challenge and support they require.
The booklet is part of a series of booklets with a variety of tasks including matching keywords and definition, scaffolding, extended answers, research and a lot of practical work with matching results tables/graphs.
Some of the diagrams have had to be removed for copyright.
3 questions per card, with answers. These can be used for a quiz for the whole class or several sets printed for students in small groups.
Topics include: limestone, atoms, periodic table, alkanes, alkenes, cracking, auxins, hormones, nerves, reflex, energy, energy resources, waves and much more.
Resources included:
- All combined science lessons with lesson plan, Powerpoint and other resources.
If you have any questions about these resources then please contact us at admin@achieveinscience.com
This lesson is from the series of lessons that I have created for the New Combined Science Trilogy course and are linked to the new AQA specification.
Each lesson varies in its content and are sold individually but they are also available as a complete BUNDLE (see bundles and SAVE).
Lessons include:
- Lesson Plan – a clear overview of the lesson, links to specification, three main objectives, keywords, resources, starters, 3 main activities and plenaries. Ideas are also included for differentiation for lower and more able students.
- PowerPoint – with lesson objectives and keywords on each slide.
- Additional resources – printable sheets for starters/plenaries/investigations.
- Support sheets – guidance for demonstrations and practical activities
All of these lessons will be continually updated and so please continue to revisit these resources for the most up to date resources.

Revision loop card activity for Additional Biology. Students need to cut out the cards and then sequence them so that the question on one card matches the answer on the next one. If the student get them correct, it will form a loop.
The answer sheet is also provided so that you can quickly check response and identify any mistakes made by the student(s).
A great activity to challenge students - who is quickest; to assess students and highlight misconceptions.
Loop cards include questions about:
genes, chromosomes, mitosis, meiosis, daughter cells, inheritance, dominant, recessive, alleles
Progress monitoring booklets for Further Additional Science - Biology B3
A list of the various objectives for each of the topics in the B3 Further Additional Science Unit.
Students can show progress against what they know about a topic at the start and then at the end of a unit. This can then be used to produce a personalised revision programme for the student.
Alternative way of being used, is to print on stickers and use in books.
