Spanish GCSE Future Plans: mis planes para el futuro worksheet
A sentence builder and key vocabulary review for pupils to talk about their future plans in Spanish, with answers. These activities will allow pupils to build their vocabulary, writing skills and confidence and will scaffold their written and oral response to this question/ topic.
It included vocabulary exercises, reading & gap-fill, translation both ways and writing task.
Spanish A Level Translation Practice & Key Verbal Structures Revision (with answers)
A resource I have used with my 6th Form groups as part of the A Level course to prepare them for the translation component. There is a reference sheet/ revision sheet of key verbal constructions and their prepositions in Spanish. There is also lots of translation practice and nearly every one of these sentences requires pupils to choose one of the prepositional constructions. The translation practice covers the themes of: music, the world of work and the impact of tourism in Spain. **Suggested answers included. **
Spanish GCSE School Imperfect ¿cómo era tu escuela primaria? Reading & Translation
A standalone lesson on the topic of “primary school” using the imperfect tense. Some knowledge of the imperfect tense is required prior to this lesson.
The starter is matching up key imperfect verbs from the board to their English equivalents on the handout. Pupils could then use there verbs to write sentences about their primary school. There is then a selection of different and interesting adjectives that pupils can use to talk about their schools. There is a reading comprehension & a gap-fill. The final activity is translation into Spanish using the imperfect tense and recycling all the vocabulary from this lesson.
The resources are a model for pupils to then produce their own written/oral answer to: ¿Cómo era tu escuela primaria?
Spanish GCSE Writing School & Future Plans - Grade 9 Structures list & Model Answer
A longer GCSE writing question about school and future plans. There is a clear rubric and also a list of key complex structures to try to include, which are differentiated by level (bronze, silver, gold). Pupils can be given this question and encouraged to include as many as possible in their work to enhance quality of language.
There is also a model answer using some of the structures (150 words) with a ‘structures search’ which pupils could look at before writing their own response.
Spanish GCSE Preterite Resource Pack: Past tense explanations & grammar practice with answers
These standalone resource can be used to introduce or to revise the Preterite Tense with pupils. There are three different resources.
A complete overview of how to form the tense with practice, including regular and irregular verbs.
A regular verb drill practice for -AR/-ER/-IR verbs with answers.

Spanish A Level La Alhambra / El patrimonio cultural Reading & Translation
A standalone resource on La Alhambra for A Level, for AQA - el patrimonio cultural and Edexcel - el impacto turístico / la influencia árabe.
The resource includes a reading comprehension on the Alhambra (vocabulary search, choose the 4 correct statements and comprehension) and translation into English and Spanish. The resource is also rich in cultural references that pupils can then weave into their speaking.

Me presento / Introducing myself & question words - GCSE Spanish
Me presento: A lesson to bridge the gap from KS3 to KS4, recapping basic questions, answers and introducing yourself. I often use this in my first lesson of the GCSE course.
The resource revises dates & numbers in Spanish, a key-question match up with translation, a review of key interrogatives, a short reading activity and some translation work with a sentence builder. The final exercise is a short writing question in which pupils introduce themselves and their family in Spanish (90 words).
