Country Fact File Worksheet - Thailand

Country Fact File Worksheet - Thailand

(0)
This fact finding worksheet is made up of 10 statements about the human and physical geography of Thailand. Each statement has 1-3 blanks that the children have to fill in through either prior knowledge or researching on the internet or in books. The final section of the worksheet is a word search which contains many of the answers and other words too. Then the worksheet finished up with an open question about whether they would like to visit Thailand and why or why not. The worksheet serves as a nice introduction to various facts about Thailand and requires the children to think about what search terms to use to find the information they need effectively. I usually have the children work in pairs for this as they can bounce ideas off each other, discuss and divide the statements up between them. You can even provide a certain statement to each student in the class and then have them share their findings at the end for others to record.

Multiplication Word Problems

(0)
10 multiplication word problems involving 1-digit and 2-digit numbers. The first 6 involved no exchanging but the final 4 do. The questions increase in complexity as they progress, leading up to 2 and even 3-step solutions. Numbers are all written as words and pictures are included for each question as well as enough space for the children to show their working and answer. Here is an example question: Alex bought five packets of cookies to share with his friends. Each packet contained eleven cookies but the last one had three missing because his sister had eaten them. In the end, how many cookies did Alex have in total? This worksheet can be printed off or even set for the children to do online as a Google Doc. The content is fully editable so you can easily change question content.

Super Sleuth Mystery Trail [Designed for Online]

(0)
This mystery trail is designed to be used online as a Google Doc as there are many connected links within. The mystery trail is made up of a ten tricky puzzles to solve. The solution to each puzzle provides one word of the mystery phrase. To add support, and an extra element of detective work, under each puzzle is a clue that can only be revealed by the children highlighting that area, (as the the text is white). It’s worth seeing how easy you are able to solve each puzzle so you can be on hand to provide extra support if needed. Some of my more independent learners in Year 3 were able to do it all on their own in one period. They really enjoyed the variety of puzzles and what they needed to do to figure them out. Very challenging, yet enjoyable puzzle sheet, that quite honestly took me hours to make! I hope you and your children enjoy it too.
Your Teeth Worksheet

Your Teeth Worksheet

(0)
In this worksheet children can read and learn about our teeth, label a diagram with the four types of teeth; incisors, canines, premolars and molars and fill in the blanks in a text about how teeth change as we grow. The descriptions given about each type of tooth should enable children to look at the structure of teeth in the diagram and label them correctly. For the second part, a fill in the blank exercise, the children should be able to fill it in based on its context. This worksheet is suitable both for online (as a doc in Google Classroom) and offline (as a printout). I hope you also find it useful. If you do, please leave a review!
Diet and Teeth Worksheet [Suitable for Online Use]

Diet and Teeth Worksheet [Suitable for Online Use]

(0)
This worksheet is made up of a short explanation text about the different diets in animals and humans and then a table containing three different animal skulls. Children should read the text and then looking at the skulls, suggest what animal they came from, what diet they think they might have and reasons why they think that. The skulls are a cat skull, a giraffe skull and a gorilla skull. For reasoning, the children should try and relate the structure of the teeth to their function. For example, I think the cat is a carnivore because it has lots of sharp teeth so it can tear, shred and rip meat off the bone. A nice warm-up or follow-up activity to this is to present a variety of other animal skull pictures and see if children can guess what animal they come from.

Food for Thought - Mad Lib

This is a short story about Jonny’s dinner. Words are missing throughout the text and it’s the children’s job to fill in the blanks making sure it’s the correct part of speech (as stated in brackets) and also that it makes sense. The first page of the document contains form fields so children can easily click and fill in the blanks. The second page is for printing off for children to fill in. Because of this, the worksheet is suitable for children to complete either online or offline. *Please note: The form functions don’t work in Google Docs, so it’s best to share the lined version instead. * Mad libs are a great way for children to personalise stories whilst learning about parts of speech and proper grammatical structure! I hope you enjoy the often crazy versions your children come up with!

When I'm Older - Fill in the Blanks

(0)
A fill in the blank exercise for a text about, ‘When I’m Older’. Children enjoy making their own hopes and predictions about what their life will be like in 20 years time. An example text is included to give the children an idea of how to complete their own. It also includes lots of adjectives and children should be encouraged to add some to their own text to make it more interesting. The document includes 2 copies of the worksheet. The first contains form fields so children can easaily click on the boxes and fill in the blanks. The second is meant to be printed so children can write their answers on the lines provided. My children really enjoyed this activity and it is very insightful to read and share with the rest of the class.

Addition Grids for 1 & 2 Digit Numbers [6 Levels]

Addition Grids for 1 & 2 Digit Numbers [6 Levels]

(0)
This worksheet contains six addition grids of increasing difficulty. The first has low single digit numbers whereas the final has higher double digit numbers, no larger than 20. Each A4 page contains two challenge grids so you can save on paper whilst still having enough space for those children who write large than others. Depending on your children’s ability, you can set the timer anywhere from a minute to five if necessary. It’s good way to assess their ability to perform arithmetic quickly and also makes for good homework practice. My children generally really enjoy the challenge!
Maths Quiz - Distance & Length Word Problems

Maths Quiz - Distance & Length Word Problems

(0)
This quiz contains eight questions (with answers) which are all word problems involving length and distance. The calculations are mostly addition and subtraction with some basic multiplication towards the end. There are a range of metric units use, mostly km. For each question a one-minute timer is provided which will start when clicked. You could use it as the actual timer for children to do the working or you could have it as a final minute timer which is what I usually do. Play it by ear. After each question when the answer is revealed, we go through the working on the board and create bar models to help explain where necessary. The quiz is fully editable so you can easily change the content. I like to use the names of children from my class to make it more personalised. I also spent time creating a colourful and well-designed template too so you can reuse this quiz format for other topics and subjects also.
Identifying and Naming Fractions [Designed for Online]

Identifying and Naming Fractions [Designed for Online]

(0)
This worksheet could be printed out, but was designed to be completed by children online in Google Docs. It’s made up of 10 questions, a bonus and an extension task. The first five questions involve the children shading in the given shape (using the background colour changer in Google Docs) as well as naming the fraction either as a word or in its number form. The second five questions involve naming the fractions based on a given shaded area of the shape. The bonus is a slightly trickier question based on the second half of questions and the extension involves children creating their own table shape, shading the cells and typing up the fraction name. It’s great for use in Google Classroom where every child gets their own copy. You can then easily check their individual progress live and then check their results.
Makeup Money Editable Display (New British Pounds)

Makeup Money Editable Display (New British Pounds)

(0)
This display is ideal for projecting the denominations of British Pound. Underneath the labeled coins and notes is an enlarged table for typing in different amounts of pounds (with space for up to £999.99). To achieve the lesson objective - make up given amounts, children will need either actual or fake money. Our school has a large set of fake currency which I divide up between small groups. Individuals can then easily select what they need to make up the given amount. Projecting the chart on a white board also allows you to tally or cross-off coins as you work through examples on how to make up different amounts. You could also do the same on the document too as it’s fully editable. To add difficulty to the LO, ask the children to make it in the easiest way possible or once they have made it up one way, challenge them to make it up another way.

My Maths Word Problem Worksheet

(0)
This worksheet is for use towards the end of a maths unit where the children start to make their own word problems for others to solve. The worksheet is split into two sections. The first part has a space for children to write their facts and question and another space for drawing a small illustration related to the problem. The second has spaces for using a bar model or equivalent to help determine how to solve the problem and then spaces for the calculation and answer.

This subtracting fractions worksheet is designed to be used online as a Google Doc, however it could still be printed out and used that way. It’s made up of 17 questions plus a bonus. Each question involves subtracting fractions of the same denominator. The calculations get progressively more difficult and the final few questions involve answers which require a written fraction name instead. It’s great for use in Google Classroom where every child gets their own copy. You can then easily check their individual progress live and then check their results.

Fractions Art [Designed for Online]

(0)
This art/maths crossover is designed to be used online as a Google Doc. It could still be printed out though. It’s made up of a 10x10 grid in which children have to create a pattern or picture (with the Google Doc background changer) using six different colours. Once they have created their art, the second job is to identify the fractions of each of the colours they used in making it. It’s a fun way to connect maths and art and let’s the children create pixel type art. Expect a lot of Minecraft related stuff to be handed in! Finally, it’s great for use in Google Classroom where every child gets their own copy. You can then easily check their individual progress live and then check their results.

This worksheet is designed to be used as a Google Doc so children can complete it online, however, it could also be printed and used that way instead. LO’s: I can tell the time before and after a given time. I can tell the differences in time. It’s made up of two parts… Part A involves two clocks (a mixture of digital and analogue). One is the start time and the second is the finish time. Children have to find out the difference in times. An example is given at the start. Part B involves a series of word problems. Children have to find out how much time before or after a given event. The worksheet finishes with a riddle bonus question.
