4 Levelled Group Talk Crib Sheets for Spanish

(0)
Group Talk encourages students to use the language in more casual, conversational settings. Put up a PowerPoint with pictures of various branded snacks, video games, television shows, movies, etc and get the students to use their knowledge of the language along with these crib sheets to engage in debates; expressing their opinions, agreeing and disagreeing with one another. There are three KS 3 sheets. Level 1 for Year 7, Level 2 for Year 8, Level 3 for Year 9, or can be used most specifically for differentiation within year groups. There is also a higher level, more mature sheet aimed at GCSE students. Get your students speaking more spontaneously and try not to correct small mistakes! Although I have listed these resources under 'displays and posters', I have found it helpful to have a set of each laminated ready to give out to the class when needed. An excellent starter or plenary activity and great training for the new GCSE speaking elements.

GCSE Spanish Revision Aztec Adventure

(0)
A series of 11 tasks based around the planning of a trip to Mexico to explore a spooky Aztec temple where a Mexican researcher recently went missing. Each task focuses on a different topic and students must work together to escape the temple in time! Pack includes: * Lesson plan/running order * Eleven activities, each focusing on a different topic: * Some images for use as posters/promotional materials Topics covered: * Directions and places in the town * Food and drink * Shopping * Personal information and family * Hobbies * Daily routine * School * Health * Holidays * Jobs * The environment This activity was originally designed to be used as a fun way of revising some key GCSE vocabulary during an Easter School revision session. It can last up to a few hours. Can be used as an after school session or over the course of a week during lesson time. We were lucky enough to have access to a library with a large basement beneath it and students split into two groups and communicated using walkie-talkies provided by the school. This added to the drama — we had a drama student teacher dressed up as a monster and the students in the basement used torches to navigate from task to task, trying to complete activities within a given time or risk one member of the team being ‘caught’ by the monster and given a short time out. It can be easily adapted to work within a classroom, with the ‘research’ group sitting around a table with dictionaries, ready to assist the group completing the tasks.
