A knowledge organiser for Y7 variables and planning an investigation

The powerpoint goes through various topics (based on AQA B1 and B2 but I am sure will link to other specs with ease) regarding variation and genetics. It is all based around a Jurassic Park/World model Jurassic Land and the students will embark on an adventure to complete an apprenticeship programme at I-gen. There is a front sheet also attached and a sheet in which students can genetically engineer a T-Rex into the I-Rex. This series of lessons is not split up as such but needs your professional judgement of what to include and what not to include and should support your teaching and learning in your SoW . An activity looking at food chains and food webs

A presentation that goes through some common UK woodland flowers that may also be found on your school field and grounds. resource also comes with a worksheet that students can use to investigate these flowers on their own

A presentation that has some interesting facts of the mini beasts of your school grounds. A worksheet is also included that students can use to jot down notes, go outside, find the critters and draw and annotate them. A chance to get students in the great outdoors.

A presentation that explains some of the adaptations of the common species that could be found in your school or local stream and how they are used as pollution indictors. This includes a worksheet that can be used during stream fieldwork.

A presentation that explores some of the most common trees that could be found in your school grounds. Discover their shape, leaves, flowers and seeds. Students can then explore their school grounds and collect leaves from the trees and stick an example on the worksheet. For stretch and challenge learners could create an Identification key which can be used to ID the tree in the future.

This can be attached to every TDA to show the amount of marks given for each TDA, it also speeds up the marking and assessing process. This can also highlight areas which your students are finding more difficult to write up so you can spend more time more time going over these weaker areas.

This is set up as a time saver so you can track what topics have been covered in your department for Y9,10 and 11. It has been formatted so all you need to do is type in the group and set, put the name of their teacher in and then once a topic has been completed type in a 9 for Y9, 10 for Y10 and 11 for Y11. This will change colour and keep you track and monitor who has been taught which unit.

Students can colour and create an interactive resource that they can stick in exercise books. The flaps lift up to show the effects of either physical, chemical or biological weathering. Students can then describe the process under the flap. Also including is a worksheet to assess knowledge and a teacher guide which contains photos of the finished products.
