THE NEW DEAL MODEL ANSWERS (2025) - USA DEPTH STUDY, NEW PAPER 4 FORMAT (CIE 0470)

(0)
This resource consists of two model answers for the New 2024 onwards Paper 4 Cambridge IGCSE History exam. It includes one Qa. ‘Write an account…’ question and one Qb. ‘Discuss the importance/impact/significance of…’ question. Both questions are centred on The New Deal, as part of the CIE USA depth study. All materials included in this bundle have been produced following the completion of the new Paper 4 CIE IGCSE training course delivered by Cambridge International Examinations for the new 2024 specification. Model answers in this resource: Qa) Write an account of the measures taken by Roosevelt to help the unemployed. [15] Qb) Discuss the impact of the First New Deal [25] NOTE: The content in the Qb 25 marker is far more than is needed to gain 25/25. I have included as many facets as possible to show students the full range of points they could make but the document is fully editable to delete those you see fit in order to give a more realistic benchmark of a 4 paragraph essay (+ intro and conclusion). The Paper 4 was new to all of us last year so I was thrilled when numerous students in my class gained over 35/40, with one student gaining 40/40. My model answers, study leave revison guide and activity booklet and my paper 4 masterclass were the three things students cited as most helpful in their pupil voice reflections after the exam. Additional Associated resources: For a more in-depth examination and active implementation of the Paper 4 exam technique including; scaffolded planning support, writing tips (FAQs on content, timings, length of answers), assessment questions, pre-made marking codes for both and b questions, reflection tasks and target setting, 'uplevelling your work’ feedback activities AND model answers please take a look at my New Paper 4 Assessment Lessons for getting students exam ready, building confidence and accelerating progress.
