Themed on mountains (who knew THAT would come up in 2022??) this is a quick recap of the skills and approaches I teach for LANG 2. Apologies in advance for the bitmojis and inevitable typos. NB - Mountain is spelled wrongly on purpose. At the end of the lesson I ask if they have noticed the deliberate mistake - in every lesson I’ve taught the kids DO NOT. :S

This is a series of ten lessons designed to ‘puppy walk’ a rusty Y11 class through Macbeth. it mainly aims to focus them on the skills for the whole text response but there are 5 lessons that recap the main events of the play. These are customisable so you can build in activities to suit your class. There is some level fo differentiation the tasks that are there. A ten lesson scheme to help embed understanding of Literary Criticism and it’s background - it is by no means comprehensive for MA but it is designed for the beginnign of Y12 when students have very little grasp of any theory at all. works with the Yellow Wallpaper in class and an anthology of short stories at home, all of these were downloaded as © free resources. You will also need to acquire a selection of toddler books, one between two for the class (that will become clear in lesson 9!). 12 Angry men is a TV drama written by Reginald ROse in the 1950/60s. It is an excellent text to use in preparation for studying AN INspector Calls as it addresses isues of prejudice and class. I teach it to Y9. I hope you find it useful.
