This assembly which was used with a Year 2 class is based on an episode of Wish You Were Here. Flat Stanley travels around the globe reporting on different countries with help from the people he meets on his travels and the cast back in the studio. It includes singing, dancing (performing the Haka!), speaking in french, Kung Fu punctuation and lots of amazing facts!
Following the success of 'BARvember' these Christmas themed problems will be used throughout 'DecemBAR' (sign included) with my class to continue to promote problem-solving. In this pack there are 10 editable problems aimed at Year 2. I have been incentivising my class with all correct answers going into a prize draw to win a 'bar' of choccie at the end of the week!

What is a dragon? A PowerPoint all about dragons to stimulate writing with dragon images for ‘Quickwrite’ adjective activity. After sharing this introduction the children designed their own dragons, named them and then we watched ‘How to train a dragon featurette’. The children then wrote instructions on how to train their own dragons and we ended the unit of work by writing acrostic dragon poems.
