Practice on the function notation (new to GCSE!) involving substituting into a function and finding the value of x given what f(x) equals. This also involves composite functions. This should hopefully encourage your class to talk about their answers and understanding of the topic. Now includes an extra "find the inverse" slide!

These are worksheets that can be used for either revision, homework or those students who have missed work with each containing a QR code that will scan to a short tutorial video.

The Rangers need to calculate the number of distressed animals there are as a result of the chases using the total number of feet chased and the total number of animals.

I’ve called this an “Advent” calendar as I couldn’t think of a better name, but I have little intention of using it in the run up to Christmas only. There are 24 questions which you can choose to display; students have a go and can then check their solutions with the model answer slide. Topics include bearings, averages, expanding and simplifying brackets, angle problems, transformations, proportion, simultaneous equations, similar shapes, indices, surds, circle theorems, algebraic fractions amongst other topics. Questions are from Edexcel past papers.
There are 8 slides each with five supposed angle or shape properties. This is designed to encourage reasoning discussions in class, so the answers just have “Correct” or “Incorrect”. Error corrected!
This is designed as a starter, plenary or a discussion exercise. There are four "explosions" to work through and I have given you the choice of the students working out the shapes from the properties or finding the properties given the shape. This moves from triangles and quadrilaterals to polygons to 3D shapes. Some shapes have the same property so link to the same cloud. This has been designed to check understanding and to give some the opportunity to expand on properties. I have not included all properties of all shapes to naturally generate discussion and differentiation.
Calculate the distance the beams of light must travel in my warehouyse and the angle they make with the ground. This was just an activity to finish off this topic. There is an extension too.
This is aimed at lower ability but could also be used for higher ability. It combines maths and drawing as you have to sketch what the monster should look like given the properties. The first two have specific numbers, the second two offer a variety of answers and was intended (by me) to lead to discussion, but you could use it however you like!
