Manolito Gafotas
Celebrating World Book Day through a Spanish book.
Manolito Gafotas is one of the most important and well-knows for young people in Spain.
It was written by Elvira Lindo in 1994.
The following presentation is prepared to immerse students in the world of Manolito Gafotas with a range of activities aimed to Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5.
A few things to take into account:
Slide 11 is prepared only for Year 10, Year 11, Year 12, and Year 13. It is listening based on an extract from the book.
Slide 12 is meant to be for Key Stage 3 as it is a scaffolded written.
Slide 13 is a writing for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
The rest of the activities are accessible to all levels but Year 7 as they lack the level of vocabulary required although they could infer the meaning of most words in most activities.
At the end there is a trailer of the movie with English subtitles.
La Navidad en España
Christmas lesson to learn about Christmas in Spain and Christmas vocabulary in Spanish.
Adaptable to all levels.
End the lesson singing some Christmas carols in Spanish.

The series first appeared in French in the magazine Pilote on 29th October 1959. As of 2008, 33 comic books in the series have been released.
It was first written by René Goscinny and illustrated by Albert Uderzo.

Reflexive verbs in Spanish
Introduction lesson focused on reflexive verbs in Spanish aimed at A Levels but could be easily adapted to Key Stage 4.
The lesson includes:
Starter which is a retrieval game where students have to write down some reflexive verbs that they are familiar with.
Topic question and objectives
Cultural slide to make them talk a bit about make up and spending money on it (maquillarse - reflexive verb)
Think - pair - share - so they see the difference between a reflexive and a non-reflexive verb
Grammar explanation of reflexive verbs
