The booklet focuses on the Greek oral traditions of poetry, focuses on Greek stories like Icarus and Daedalus, Jason and the Argonauts, and Hercules, as well as providing tasks on Greek influences on the English Language. Perfect for a summer project or to set as home learning.
A practice National Reading Test for KS3 students to prepare for their NRTs. The paper has been designed to also develop key WJEC GCSE English Language skills including ‘Words in Context’ questions, ‘Access, Search and Retrieve’, ‘Sequencing’ and ‘Multiple Choice’ comprehension questions. This test uses a short but complex text about tourism in Wales to help students practise comprehension using dense writing. An answer sheet is included.
A full PowerPoint teaching ‘In Cardigan Market’ ready for the Non-Examination Assessment for WJEC English Literature. The PowerPoint initially shows background information on Cardigan market using video clips and engages with the main ideas of the poem before introducing it. The PowerPoint takes pupils through an analysis of the poem, including analysing the sonnet structure and how the use of iambic pentameter has a purpose. Specific language analysis is shown to help improve depth of analysis. Wider knowledge of certain aspects of the poem are revealed throughout. This PowerPoint is used alongside my ‘A Peasant’ resources to allow close comparison for the NEA.

A 25 page revision booklet on the theme of 'Video Games' for Section A of the WJEC *New* English Language GCSE covering key high-mark questions. The booklet contains two 'What impressions...' questions, two 'How does the Writer ...' questions, one 'Compare' question, one 'synthesise' question, and two 'Summarise' questions. The texts are included and are of excellent quality. This would be perfect to help build confidence in answering key questions and could be used perfectly in lessons, as homework, or in intervention sessions. Considering the lack of resources handed out by the WJEC, this revision workbook allows pupils to prepare effectively for each question type.
