This is a starting point for the analysis of the Rock & Pop genres needed to fulfill the requirements of the new Eduqas A-level qualification. This is a 66-slide powerpoint and is by no means a complete guide but can be used as an overview for most genres and in-depth for a few styles and tracks. The styles that are covered within this powerpoint include: 1960s psychedelia, soul, funk, disco, punk, progressive rock, heavy rock/metal, reggae and 1980s electro-pop. The track analyses that are included cover the following artists: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Jackie Wilson, Sex Pistols, The Specials, Pink Floyd, Earth Wind & Fire, The Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, The Pet Shop Boys, Kate Bush and Motorhead.
