Standard Deviation ‘What it Means’ introduces the idea of spread with some examples then gives the full standard deviation for pupils to practice. These two activities extend from 3 by 3 to 4 by 4 magic squares. Pupils design an individual magic square then search for groups of four numbes that add up to 34 (there are lots).
