A 15 slide PPT presenting 14 French idioms/phrases e.g. to go off in a huff, to put the foot down, to grab a bite to eat. Each idiom is useful for the students' written exercises for example the diary entry. Comes with a worksheet in which students have to translate sentences using these idioms, from English to French. Also very useful when studying passé compose as most sentences on the worksheet are to be conjugated in the past tense.

Three PPTs - The water cycle, clouds and rain. Each PPT is bright and colorful with plenty of images and the key terms are underlined. There are links to animations and 'The Water Cycle' song in the water cycle PPT. There are also homework/activity slides. These link to the Irish geography book 'New Geo' by Edco but of course can be changed or deleted. Also included is a cloze test which recaps on the topic and can be used as a form of assessment or as homework.

A one page word document which summarizes the formation of fold mountains. Also explains evidence of folding and briefly touches on young and old fold mountains. Includes a very simple diagram to supplement the description of their formation. A two page word document which summarizes volcanoes, mid-ocean ridges, the Pacific ring of fire & the life cycle of a volcano. Includes all the key terms associated with volcanoes and has a labeled diagram. Also briefly touches on the pros and cons of volcanic eruptions. I made this to revise the topic with my 3rd years. A two page worksheet based around the topic of food. Includes translating and matching exercises. Used food items, meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and also utensils (cup, plate etc...). Contains two short sentences about what the student eats for breakfast and dinner which are suitable or the Irish Junior Cert ordinary level exam but this can be adapted or taken out to suit your class.

A short and simple comprehension with English questions based on the house/bedroom vocab. Structured as a letter in order to revise letter format and structure too. Useful for revising or studying vocab. Could be used for HW or in class.

A 14 slide PPT based on the Boreal climate. Discusses the temperature and precipitation in the boreal regions and explains how vegetation and animals adapt in this cold climate. Contains pictures, animations and transitions. The last slide is a 'to do' slide which directs the students to questions in their text book. This can be amended to suit your class.

A 2 page word document worksheet which is based around school vocab and some adjectives linked with school. Students will need to revise adjective agreements to complete the adjective cloze test. Could be used as a class task, homework or as an exam.

A 3 page word document which summarizes world climates with particular reference to hot desert climate, cool temperature oceanic climate and boreal climate. All information is presented in a comprehensive and easy to follow grid/graphic organizer. Also lists and gives a sample answer based on factors which influence climate. 2 word document worksheets based on the passé composé (with etre and avoir). Both are translation exercises, one with 14 sentences and the other with 15 sentences. Sentences are in English and must be translated to French. Could be used in class, for assessment or for homework.

A 49 slide PPT based on secondary economic activities. Discusses the factors which attract industry to a location, light and heavy industries (using Irish case studies), inputs, processes & outputs of industry, footloose industries, industrial inertia using the British Iron and Steel industry as a case study, industrialized -v- industrializing countries and how industry impacts the environment. A lesson based on the possessive adjectives in French. Firstly, I use a word document which displays the possessive adjectives in an easy to follow grid. I copy this and distribute to students for their folder/hard back copy or alternatively, it could be projected and taken down. The second document is a word doc worksheet on which the students can practice what they've learned by filling the missing possessive adjective into each sentence. This is a starter worksheet and so, I have noted on it whether the noun is masc/fem'/plural. The final document is another cloze test that could be used for homework, in class or for an exam. Students must insert the correct possessive adjective in the blank space and then must translate each sentence from French to English.

A 3 page word document which summarizes the entire 'soils' chapter. Aimed at Junior Cert Geography (Irish curriculum). Could easily be adapted to suit needs. Includes a map of Irish soil types, diagram of soil profile and a pie chart showing soil composition. Easy to follow and well laid out.

A hand out with statements based on alcohol which is very useful for answering opinion pieces in French. Could also be used for preparing advanced students for oral exam. Word document.

An 8 slide PPT based on tropical red soils. Last slide is a ‘to do’ slide which directs students to their textbook and to a worksheet (can’t be uploaded as it is from a resource book). This slide can be adapted to suit your class. Textbook referred to in PPT is ‘Geoplanet’ by EDCO.

Two worksheets based on ‘La Météo’- The French Weather Forecast. Each worksheet has a map of France and a simple weather forecast. Students work in pairs to read the description written on their page to their partner. Their partner must listen carefully and draw weather symbols/temperatures etc on the weather map on their own page. Then swap roles. This activity allows the students to practice their oral skills as well as their listening skills. It also allows them to practice key weather phrases and compass points in French. A worksheet based on Belgian singer/songwriter Angele. The worksheet begins with a short comprehension followed by English questions. This gives an overview of her life and how she got into music. Second exercise is based on her song ‘Tout Oublier’. Students must watch the music video and put the images from the video in the correct order. Finally, there are selected words from the lyrics of the song and students must catagorize the words e.g. an adverb, a past participle, an infinitive verb etc… I use this resource with my TY classes as Angele is very current.
